We started reading this in our English class, and it's real good. It's from the '80's and it focuses on teenager's problems, mostly. There's a movie too.
It's about these two sides, the Greasers and Socs, the Socs or Socials are at the top, the decent, rich, lucky ones, while the greasers are like hoods, thieves, and stuff, and they're called the greasers because they wear a lot of hair grease. The main character is Ponyboy who lives with his two older brothers, Darry and Sodapop and they're in a greaser gang with Dally, Johnny, Steve Randle, and Two-Bit.
I wouldn't recommend this to children under 13, some material in here is to violent, and other things.
