Things you want to happen...

What a horribly vague title for a post. Sorry.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this, just kind of going over the things I really want to happen.

* For President Snow, and all that he represents, to go down. HARD. Every time we get a glimpse of how bad the people have it in Panem (like when one of the kids are delighted to have a whole roll or a whole chicken leg to themselves to eat) I ache for that whole evil system to collapse. It might be a bit much to hope for it to be overthrown, since the books have been so realistic thusfar. But I refuse to give up hope.

* I want Peeta to be happy. I just love him. He's been eternally good. So I want him to get the one thing that he wants--Katniss. I honestly think he is the best thing for her too. She loves him, truly. And I think the fact that she is without him (at least at the start of the new book) will maybe make her even more aware of how much she needs/loves him.

*I really want to see what happened/is happening to the Avox girl and Darius. Her story has fascinated me from the moment she first appeared in the first book. And poor Darius. I love him too.

* When Gale appears at the end of Catching FIre, it's like he's able to quiet some of the anger Katniss feels at Haymitch (and maybe the rebels in general, for using her as their pawn essentially). But I think some of that resentment is still there. She takes any percieved betrayal really hard. Like remember when Peeta teased her about being so modest (he laughed at her reaction to Joanna's nakedness, and that one guys kiss...etc)? Katniss was fuming for a very long time. I think it's going to be a while in book 3 before she'll forgive them for using her without her consent. And, of course, for leaving Peeta behind.

Because even though they probably had no other choice, I'm not sure she'll care. And even though I love the rebels, and all that they're working for, I still understand Katniss' resentment.

Do you guys have any agendas you want to see addressed?

Of course I would love katniss to figure out she loves Peeta as much as he loves her - but there is something that tells me that won't happen. I don't think it'll be that simple, sadly.
I would also love Katniss's Mom to find someone to be with! It has been awhile since her husband died, and I mean, c'mon... who hasn't given a though to Peeta's dad divorcing the sour wife and ending up with Katniss's Mom?
I want Finnick to be friends with Katniss and Peeta.
I know it's evil... but I think the capitol will do something evil to Katniss and Peeta. You know, dangle Peeta over a pit of rattle snakes until Katniss agrees to calling off the rebellion? I think that would be interesting. Really put their... um... 'friendship' whatever you wanna call it to the test.
What would also be interesting if they actually decided to get Katniss pregnant to keep up the fake pregnant role. Hmm... or they'd fake it somehow.

My predictions are that someone is going to die.
A major character. Probably Haymitch. Hopefully he doesn't cause I love him!
Hm. That probably a lot of Mockingjays are living in District 13.
I gotta think about more.

I know what you mean about worrying whether Peeta and Katniss will get a happily ever after ending. It's probable that they won't. But I refuse to give up hope. Even if that hope is just a tiny thread at the moment.

I think the capitol will torture Peeta.

If it was up to me, I wouldn't make anyone die. Katniss and Peeta would end happily ever after and the capitol stops the Hunger Games for good... but that isn't very interesting, is it?

But there's not a "happy-ever-after" storyline in this series.
Like in Catching Fire when that old person signs the tune of Katniss and he ends up getting shot by the Peacekeepers.

i agree with you this is not a "And they all lived happily ever after" book. this last book is gonna have some unexpected twists

i wish we couldve found out the symbolism of mockingjay pin given to Katniss by Madge.... the only idea out of all the books, Catching Fire says that it could have been Maysilee Donner's token and then Madge's mother got the token and so she kept it because it was her twin sister's and her last thing she touched while she was alive in the Games.

Symbol is surviver.

never knew that, interesting..... ok and so the different color skeems..... black is obviously to introduce us to the dark world that Katniss lives in, C.F. symbolizes fire of zeal in the districts..... wats up with the blue? all i can think is heaven.... *gulp* which means someones gonna die

I wouldn't read it if this story was a Happily-Ever-After story. ALL I WANT IS FOR PEETA AND KATNISS... but I don't think that is gonna happen.
No mater what I am stil pumped for the book! Even if someone does die...
